Goop Guys Safety

Image
Working in construction has many dangers. Safety needs to always be present in everyone’s mind. We need to look out for ourselves and our mates on site. Don’t take unnecessary risks just to get the job done. Goop Guys take safety very seriously. We have to. We want to. Although our own work is quite low risk, we need to know what work is going on around us, who else is on site and the hazards on each site. We could attend up to 8 different sites in a day and no 2 sites are the same. A Worksite Hazard Risk Assessment needs to be filled out for each job. This forces us to take in the surroundings and make sure we aren’t going to be putting ourselves or anyone else in danger. Each Goop Guy has a variety of aids to assist in making the job as risk free as possible. These include extension poles and platform ladders to avoid unnecessary stretching and reaching. We also equip ourselves with PPE including hi vis shirt, steel cap boots and UV protection. At the end of the da

The Choice To Become a Goop Guy

Life had changed a lot in the past few years. Marriage, children and climbing the corporate ladder. Eventually it got to a point where something had to give. The decision between those options was an easy one. I began the search immediately, and decided to pursue a dream of being self-employed. I randomly stumbled across something called Goop Guys. The name was catchy, the logo bright. I had to open the link and find out more. Temporary surface protection . The concept seemed simple, the purpose brilliant. I spent some time looking into it. The more I found out, the more intriguing it became. I decided to fly to Caloundra and speak with the franchiser. It was this visit where my mind was made up. Speaking with Mr Goop himself, meeting the rest of the team and spending time onsite to see Goop being applied. This was a product designed to solve a common problem amongst builders and it was clear to see why it was the market leader. I began the paperwork immediately and have

Kitchen Cabinet Goop Protection

Image
Goop can be used as temporary surface protection on a range of different materials. We constantly get customers asking to test Goop on their products. Once particular customer was having a problem with their high gloss polyurethane coated kitchen cabinets getting scratched and marked whilst other trades were still working in the house. Multi Goop was the product put to use to solve this problem. The job involves taping around the handle then applying Multi Goop with a 130mm roller to all exposed polyurethane surfaces. Once dried this provides a nice thick protective coating that can be kept on until the final clean before handover. That’s one less thing to worry about causing a delay before the owner gets the keys to their dream house. Why not call your local Goop Guy today and put them to the test. We love experimenting and discovering new uses for Goop.

HIA Awards- Sunshine Coast Wide Bay

Image
Shane and Kirstee recently attended the HIA awards night at Novotel Twin Waters Resort. What a great night put on by HIA!  Drinks, food, dresses, suits! The presentation was lively and well organised.  As Goop Guys was a sponsor of the night, Shane handed out the awards for the bathroom winners- we all know how much he loves the limelight! We would like to wish all the nominees congratulations! A lot of effort is put into these nominations alone, never mind the work that is done building or renovating! And some stunning work was displayed. Also a big CONGRATULATION to the winners of the night! # automining   # peelablepaint  # glassprotection # windowprotectionfilm

Gooping floors

When you build a house, you are building your dream home. Everything must be in an impeccable condition before it is handed over to you. If you build a house and don’t use Goop , you are risking damage and imperfections to your long-awaited pride and joy.  When Goop is applied to your floors, you will achieve scratch-free floors at a great price. Goop is rolled on as a liquid and quickly dries to create a clear coating which vacuum seals to the surface, so it doesn’t leave a sticky residue as other protective coatings do. Goop can protect your new floors for 12 months, and can be used on tiles, polished concrete, sealed timber floor , and even vinyl floors. In fact, Goop can be applied to any non-porous surface. Goop also protects a range of other surfaces including windows, bathtubs and benchtops. We absolutely won’t work on our own homes without Goop applied first. It is a simple, inexpensive solution to achieve perfection.

How to remove Goop

Goop is on your surfaces to protect them during the building process. Once all the trades have finished working you simply remove the Goop on your windows by wetting the coating slightly- with either a window washer or hose. Then pick a corner at the top and peel coating in a downward manner so that it comes off in one sheet. If there is mortar or render on the coating, peel slowly and it will flick off the Goop as you peel. Now wash windows as normal- there will be no need for steel blades!   To remove the Goop coating from benchtops simply picks an edge and peel off the surface. If any gripping lightly wet with water and then peel. Bathtub removal is as easy as picking a bit at the plughole and lifting coating, again if any gripping simply wet with water. The bath will be left looking like new! Removing the floor goop is again simply a matter of picking a corner and lifting in a diagonal pull. Go slow over the grout so that it comes up without tearing. It is be
